Ok, last I heard Mie, Mind of Asian’s guitarist, left the band, but they have live show updates posted. I’m not sure if they found a new guitarist or if Mie came back. Either way, I will not pass up this chance to see my favorite thrashcore/powerviolence band!

Six young but talented metal bands are getting together this Saturday to put on a cheap show in Nakano. If you’re a fan metalcore, you owe it to yourself to go to this live show as it will only cost you ￥1,000! Get out and support these real underground bands. File this under “guilty pleasures”. I just went out and got my copy of Kaela’s new single. This isn’t the kind of blog that beacons a review from such a release, so there won’t be one (not very underground, is she?). I just thought I’d share this bit of information with all of you. CUBISMO GRAFICO FIVE
CUBISMO GRAFICO FIVE will be releasing their 4th album “Double Dozen” on July 7th and will play a total a three shows in Japan (Osaka, Nagoya, Toyko) to promote it. They will team up with math/space/science rockers avengers in sci-fi for the Osaka and Nagoya shows.

Illuminate (7/7)
Tokyo-based post-rockers LITE’s new 5 song mini album will be released on July 7th in Japan (Tanabata, for those who don’t know) and will cost ￥1,600 (tax included). Along with their new mini album, LITE is playing two shows this month, one at Fandango in Juso (Osaka) and another show at Liquidroom in Ebisu (Tokyo).

They are doing it AGAIN! SCLL is releasing 2, two, TWO albums in a single year! “VIEW” was excellent, but unfortunately it was released at a time when this blog was on hiatus so there was no official review written about it. Bummer, I know. “VIEW” was released on April 21st and was preceded by the single “dreamer”. Yes, that’s right, SCLL has a total of three releases this year! Any way, an official review will be posted once it gets released. For now, get yourselves a copy of dreamer and VIEW and wait until forest… gets released.
“forest at the head of a river” will be released on June 23rd on felicity records.
Her Name In Blood
Formed in 2003 and having just released their first album “Decadence” this year, Her Name In Blood is making big waves in the Japanese metalcore community. They are hitting the road to tour all across the country this summer so be sure to get yourself to one of these shows!

Each of the Days
Each of the Days, hot off the release of their first EP “Historical Sheep”, is putting on a series of shows across Japan. I think it’s pretty amazing that this metalcore band has only just released their first EP and they are opening for The Black Dahlia Murder and Unearth. I’m even more excited to see them now. Also, the cute girl in the band is their drummer and she can tear it up!
I personally am stoked for the June 20th show with August Burns Red, Crossfaith and Her Name in Blood. But it’s a Thursday so I’m not sure if I can go, but if any of you can, I can guarantee that it will be an awesome show.

The Black Dahlia Murder / Unearth
Japan is being invaded by two of the biggest American metal bands at the end of May. The Black Dahlia Murder and Unearth will being a total of three shows in Japan at Club Quatttro in Osaka (Shinsaibashi), Tokyo (Shibuya) and Nagoya. Tickets are ¥6,800 advance and ¥7,300 at the door. Tickets for all shows are still available so get out and bang your head.
The opening act is a Japanese band called Each of the Days from Nagoya. I have more to write about Each of The Days, but I’ll save that for the next post.
